Job summary
The advanced paramedic practitioner at Potterells Medical Centre is a registered paramedic with post graduate qualifications who acts within their professional boundaries.
The key duties of the APP will be to hold minor illness sessions face to face at both Potterells Medical Centre and our University Medical Centre site. There will also be sessions within Hatfield Care Home looking at the minor illness complaints of our patients. When necessary, there may also be an element of triage sessions.
Main duties of the job
This role will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of their care. They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care for patients.
The advanced paramedic practitioner is expected to attend to patients within the defined list of conditions, including assessment, diagnosis and treatment to deliver quality patient services in conjunction with the daily duty doctor.
The advanced paramedic practitioner will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures. The post holder will use advanced clinical skills to provide education to service users, promoting self-care and empowering them to make informed choices about their treatment.
We are ideally looking for a minimum of 6 sessions/20+ hours per week. Pay rate is negotiable depending on experience: £25 - £28 per hour.
Whilst this job advert is for an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner, First Contact Practitioners with a willingness to learn and complete the independent prescribing will also be considered with amended duties.

About Us: We are currently a 6 Partner practice based in Welham Green. We also have 5 Salaried GPs, 5 Nurses, 2 HCAs, 2 Pharmacists, a Pharmacy Technician as well as a range of ARRS staff and admin support. We cover 2 sites, and this role will work across both. Our main site is at Potterells Medical Centre in Welham Green, and we also cover Hertfordshire University with our second site being the Medical Centre on College Lane Campus. We look after Hatfield Nursing Home and the role will be required to visit the care home on a regular basis.

We are looking for a Paramedic Practitoner to join our team working a minimum of 6 sessions/20 hours.
Pay Rate: £24 - £27 per hour depending on experience.
