We are looking for experienced or newly qualified GPs, who
will enjoy working in a supportive team looking after a very diverse population
of patients from two sites. If you are enthusiastic and passionate about
delivering high quality care to patients, we want to hear from you!
Main duties of the job
We arekeen to ensure the continued long term delivery of excellent primary care to our local community and as a GP, your workload will be organised to enable you to focus on providing excellent patient care.You will beexpected to undertake all of the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care including:
oManaginga varied caseload and dealing with a wide range of health needs, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients
oCarry out thorough surgery consultations, telephone consultations, home visits, dealing with any queries in a professional manner
oClinical admin including completing tasks and filing or actioning results and documents/reports
oAssist with medical emergencies within the Practice
oDeal with minor injuries as they present to the Practice - including superficial lacerations/head injuries/minor burns, etc.
oRefer cases outside of the scope of the Practice to appropriate secondary care services
oParticipate in team meetings and provide support to other members of the clinical team and offering support to GP Trainees
oProvide counselling and health education to patients

Thomas Walker Westgate Healthcare are a 26,000+ patient Practice and therefore one of Peterboroughs largest practices and an active member of Peterborough and East PCN. Peterborough itself is a busy cathedral city within the county of Cambridgeshire, boasting good public transport and road links and only an hour from London by train.
We are a dynamic, forward thinkingpractice with 2 sites based within the city of Peterborough, and an experienced and welcoming team of staff including6 Partners, 5 Salaried GPs, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, and a full team of Nurses and HCAs. We also employ a team of 12 PCN staff, including a team of Clinical Pharmacists who support much of the daily processing of repeat prescriptions and general medication reviews where their skills allow. Recognised as a training practice, we currently have 3 Registrars and additionally host Cambridge Medical Students. We have an excellent approach to working in partnership with our teams and have a flexible approach to all that we do.
