Job summary

Derby City South Healthcare Ltd is seeking a proactive, skilled, and dedicated Business Manager to join our PCN. The new Business Manager will play a vital role in ensuring the continued smooth operation of the PCN and supporting the ongoing delivery of high-quality care to our community.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong leadership, financial, and operational management skills to make a significant impact in primary care, while building upon the legacy of collaboration, excellence, and patient-centred care established by our PCN.

Main duties of the job

To manage and coordinate all aspects of PCN functionality, lead PCN activities and services operationally and strategically, motivating and managing staff, optimising efficiency and financial performance, ensuring the PCN achieves its long-term strategic objectives in a safe and effective working environment.

Through innovative ways of working, lead the team with promoting Vision, Quality and Continuous Improvement, Confidentiality, Collaborative Working, Service Delivery, Learning and Development, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and ensure the PCN complies with CQC regulations.

About us

Derby City South Healthcare Ltd is the delivery arm company behind Derby City South PCN - a mature, stable PCN that puts patients and practices first and prioritises continuity of care close to home.

PCNs were formed as part of the NHS long-term plan. PCNs are developing to bring together general practice in geographical networks covering populations of approximately 30-50,000 patients - our PCN is large and covers 7 practices with 103,000 patients.In order to deliver the best services to our patients, and to ensure a strong governance process, our PCN decided to form a limited company (Derby City South Healthcare Ltd) with GP Partner representatives from each member practice serving as directors.

Along with delivering Our PCN is also sub-contracted to provide the Derbyshire 'Team Up' service, which provides a GP acute home visiting service which links in with other community providers as part of a wider team.

Responsibilities

To assist the PCN Director(s) and board in setting and realising the PCN vision, mission and business strategy

To play a pivotal role in the delivery of high-quality primary health care services

Operationally lead and manage the delivery of our 'Team Up' service

Line management of PCN staff

CQC Registered Manager

To be involved in the management and strategic development of the PCN.

Support the PCN Director(s) and board to ensure the smooth running of the PCN.

Manage contractual requirements on behalf of the PCN

Co-ordinate the delivery of enhanced services and other service submissions on behalf of the PCN

To cultivate the benefits of working at scale

To develop and maintain positive relationships with and across the PCN

To be responsible for the production of performance and quality reports within the PCN and other PCN initiatives.

Secure funding opportunities for the development of patient services and realisation of the PCN business strategy

To be responsible for the oversight of the PCNs financial systems/ budgeting /PCN employed staff/payments to all the practices within the Network.

Ensure the PCNs compliance with the GDPR and FOI along with other relevant legislation and professional information management standards such as GMC/BMA and LMC guidance

To represent the PCN in cross organisation meetings when agreed e.g. locality/CCG meetings

First point of contact for Practice Managers with regard to delivery of PCN projects/schemes.

Co-ordinate training and development of PCN clinical/administrative staff

Support recruitment, induction and training of new PCN staff

Collate feedback / analyse data on behalf of the PCN to report to the PCN Board and ICB as required

Take the lead in strategically developing and shifting towards 'neighborhood's as described in the NHS ten year plan
