Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced Practice Nurse to join our clinical team and assist in the management of our Chronic Disease Patients including Diabetes, Asthma and COPD. Cervical Smears and Childhood Immunisations . We would anticipate that the post holder will become a key member of the nursing team .

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work towards carrying out the full range of duties below, with appropriate training and support to develop competence and build the required skills.

The role is to provide a practice nursing service to patients, including chronic disease management and other specialist areas whilst taking appropriate initiative and working independently.

The post holder works as part of the clinical team to meet the needs of patients.

It is expected that the post holder will lead on managerial duties to support the nursing role including but not limited to vaccine ordering, clinical stock control, cervical screening failsafe's and PGD monitoring.

The Practice has a commitment to excellent patient care, quality improvement and teaching. It is expected that all of our clinicians are actively committed to supporting these aims and participate in relevant activities when appropriate.

About us

We are a GP Training practice with a diverse and multi disciplinary team made up of a variety of clinicians including GPs, physiotherapists, GP trainees, HCA, mental health nurse and clinical pharmacists. In addition we have provided training to other healht care workers including nurses and pharmacists. We are supported in our clinical roles by a robust admin and reception team.

Penrhyn surgery practice population is circa 9500 patients, from a diverse multi ethnic background with a wide ranging population from childhood to old age.
