Receptionist

Job summary

We are looking for a motivated Receptionist to join our small friendly team. Ideally someone who can start from mid-June, but we are willing to wait for the right candidate.

Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Multitasking ability is preferential and helpful in this busy role.

Previous NHS experience would be an advantage but not necessary.

The post is 16 hours per week, but we have some flexibility with this.

Hours of work are negotiable.

Main duties of the job

  • Ensure that all reception duties and tasks are carried out in an effective, efficient and professional manner in line with the practices guidelines, procedures and protocols
  • Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice
  • Undertake general office and reception duties including front desk, telephone and email.
  • Liaise with outside agencies
  • Support colleagues and be a team player
  • Respect confidentiality and data protection rules
  • Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way

About us

Our patient population is around 3,500 patients.

We have parking on-site, and there are local bus, train and tram services. All within walking distance of the surgery.

We are a forward-looking practice. We use SystmOne.

Flexibility for staff sickness and holiday cover is essential.
