Main duties of the job

As a Salaried GP, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care through a mix of face-to-face and telephone consultations. You will assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of clinical presentations, ensuring safe and effective treatment plans for patients.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to shared decision-making and coordinated care. The role includes reviewing and actioning clinical information, maintaining accurate patient records, and supporting continuity of care.

There will also be opportunities to contribute to service development and clinical improvement initiatives, as well as develop specialist interests in line with your career goals. The practice encourages collaboration and ensures that GPs are supported in delivering safe, efficient, and effective care.

About us

Located in Bootle, Park Street Surgery serves a population of approximately 6,500 patients and is staffed by a strong, multidisciplinary team. With four GPs and three on-site daily, you will always have access to peer support and collaboration.

The wider team includes ANPs, practice nurses, HCAs, and clinical prescribing pharmacists, all working together to deliver high-quality care while reducing GP workload. Home visits are managed by ANPs, allowing GPs to remain focused on in-practice care.

We are seeking a motivated and committed Salaried GP to join our innovative and supportive practice. This role has been specifically designed to promote GP wellbeing, flexibility, and long-term sustainability, with no on-call duties and no home visit requirements.

You will work in a modern primary care environment supported by efficient systems and a strong multidisciplinary team. The role offers the opportunity to shape a personalised working pattern that fits around both your professional and personal commitments.

Workload and Structure

The practice is committed to delivering a manageable and sustainable workload.

A typical working day consists of a morning session with 12 patient appointments and 3 telephone consultations, and an afternoon session with 12 patient appointments and 2 telephone consultations. Flexible start and finish times are available, and there are no on-call commitments.

Home visits are undertaken by Advanced Nurse Practitioners, removing the requirement for GP visits. The practice also supports flexible and bespoke working arrangements tailored to individual GP needs, including the potential for some remote working.

You will be part of a highly skilled and collaborative team including General Practitioners, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, and Clinical Prescribing Pharmacists.
