ANP - Advanced Nurse Practitioner
We at New Quay Surgery arelooking to recruit a friendly, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive team at New Quay Surgery in Ceredigion.
The ideal applicant should be an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner who, acting within their professional boundaries, will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care.
They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the general practice. The post holder will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process.
They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as required. In order to work at this level NMC requirement for advanced practice must be met.

The ANP role is central to our service and manages much of the acute illness presented on a daily basis.
Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate treatment/interventions and care for patients presenting with an undifferentiated diagnosis
Clinically examine and assess patient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective, and plan clinical care accordingly
Prescribe and review medication for therapeutic effectiveness, appropriate to patient needs and in accordance with evidence-based practice and national and practice protocols, and within scope of practice
Work with patients in order to support compliance with and adherence to prescribed treatments
Provide information and advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication on medication regimens, side-effects and interactions
Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles, and apply principles of self-care

New Quay Surgery is a well-established GP Practice with just over 5,000 patients.
Our clinical team consists of2 WTE GP Partners and 2 part time ANPs (including this role), 3 Practice Nurses, 1 HCA and a strong and supportive admin team.

The vacancy is for a permanent position with a competitive salary. MDU and NMC fees are paid by us, and inclusion in the NHS Pension is available.

The ANP role is central to our service and manages much of the acute illness presented on a daily basis. The post holder should have relevant qualification at masters level and be a registered non-medical prescriber.
Considered applicants will be expert clinical practitioners, responsible for providing clinical assessments, working autonomously utilising high levels of decision making and clinical judgement in relation to patient care including the diagnosis and management of acute conditions. Primary care experience would be advantageous however full support and mentorship will be given to the successful candidate.
