Job summary

We are looking to welcome energetic and enthusiastic GP Medical Receptionist and Administrators to our Stennack Surgery Team.

Main duties of the job

To provide Medical Reception and Admin Support within the surgery according to patient and business demand:

  • Medical Reception Duties includinganswering telephone calls and working on front desk. Helping to deal with all patient queries and care navigate patients to the most appropriate service.
  • Prescription processing & tasks
  • Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to all patients and visitors

  • Further in-depth Medical Administration as training continues

Up to 37.5 hours per week between Monday and Friday between 8am and 8pm. There will be a mixture of early and late shifts and at least one shift will be until 8pm.

About us

You will be joining a fantastic surgery team who are all committed to helping the local community of St Ives and our surrounding area. We have five GP Partners, five Salaried GPs and a large Nursing/HCA team with 12,000 patients. We have an Outstanding CQC Rating and an extended range of services on site including a Minor Injuries Unit (MIU), Minor Surgery and Womens Health clinics, Boots Pharmacy, Physiotherapy Clinics and a Practice Pharmacist.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking GP Medical Receptionist/Administrator to join our busy GP practice who will be the first point of contact for patients, contractors, and visitors as well as carrying out general office management tasks.

You will be responsible for general administrative and reception duties within the Practice and work with our established processes, policies and procedures to provide a comprehensive high-quality service. Dealing with all patient queries efficiently and courteously, you will care navigate patients to the most appropriate service.

You will have excellent communication skills, a compassionate and friendly nature who can operate in a busy environment with a range of people and professions, as you will be working our clinical and administration teams.

Your regular duties in this role will be dealing with telephone, face to face and electronic enquiries, booking and/or amending patient appointments and home visits, contacting patients to provide information from the clinical team and assisting patients to access both our services and those available in the wider community.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised and an effective communicator who can provide a professional and warm welcome to our patients, ensuring every contact is of the highest quality to help and assist our patients.

IT skills are essential, as you will be using our IT our clinical system for all parts of your role, including processing prescription requests and providing a full reception and administrative service.

  • Understanding of data protection and confidentiality issues

  • Committed to own continuing personal development and an ability to
