There is dedicated time for administrative tasks and no home visits. We offer in-house training, funding for PDP, and opportunities to develop in new areas.

We would love to show you round the practice and introduce you to the unique & rewarding world of student health. We are based in a large modern building near Sheffield Student Union. Main duties of the job

Working with young adults is a rewarding and fascinating experience, with the opportunity to develop new knowledge & skills in managing complex mental health, eating disorders, gender dysphoria, complex contraception presentations and sexual health. You will play a vital role in delivering patient care. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting routine and urgent appointments, face-to-face, online and via telephone, ensuring high-quality care.

  • Being part of our weekly rota for online consultations/triage.

  • Prescribing according to local and national guidelines.

  • Managing administrative tasks, such as letters, results, referrals, and emails, in a timely manner.

  • Making appropriate referrals and managing related admin.

  • Checking and signing repeat prescriptions to maintain care quality.

  • Providing cover for colleagues in emergencies, considering individual commitments.

  • Participating in on-call sessions.

  • Collaborating with other health and social care providers to deliver integrated care.

  • 3. Understanding of evidence-based practice and ability to follow clinical policy and procedure with and understanding of the audit process.
  • 4. Evidence of working autonomously and ability to assess and manage patient risk effectively and safely, working within own scope of practice, with some support and supervision.
  • 5. Ability to effectively triage, assess and diagnose.
  • 6. Excellent communication skills (written and oral) including recording of accurate clinical notes and being able to effectively communicate and understand the needs of the patient, listening and empathising whilst being honest and caring.
  • 7. Strong IT skills and competent in the use of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
