Job summary

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic & compassionate ANP to join our clinical team. We are a happy established clinical team that is looking for the right nurse to join us.

Previous experience of working in General Practice is desirable; however, we are able to provide a Transition Programme for those who are new to Primary Care, if required.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as an autonomous clinician within the GP practice, providing advanced clinical care to patients presenting with acute, chronic, and complex health needs. The role requires independent prescribing, advanced clinical assessment skills, and the ability to manage patients across their lifespan within a primary care setting. The ANP/ECP will work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centred care, contributing to service development and quality improvement within the practice.

About us

We pride ourselves in providing the highest quality of traditional General Practice care in a supportive team environment. We are a friendly team consisting of 3 GPs, 7 ANPs, 1 ECP, 4 Practice Nurses, 1 NA, 2 HCAs, 1 GPA and a supportive admin staff caring for 14,500 patients in a semi-rural setting. We are also supported by PCN ARRS staff including Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Physiotherapist, Social Prescriber and Health Coaches.

Main Duties and Clinical Responsibilities

Undertake comprehensive clinical assessments, including history taking, physical examination, and diagnosis

Manage undifferentiated and differentiated presentations independently assess, diagnose, treat, and discharge or refer patients as appropriate

Prescribe medications independently in line with clinical guidelines and best practice

Manage acute, urgent, and long-term conditions

Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic tests and investigations

Provide health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education

Provide same-day urgent care appointments and routine clinical appointments as required

Refer patients to Secondary Care, community services, or allied health professionals where appropriate

Ensure continuity of care through appropriate follow-up and safety-netting

Maintain accurate, clear, and contemporaneous clinical records
