Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic GP to
add to our lively and diverse primary care team of GPs, social prescribers,
pharmacists, physiotherapists, nurses and healthcare assistants, advanced nurse
practitioners, physician associates.
Salaried
GP required for 4 sessions per week from March 2023. We offer a flexible and modern general practice
working day, which might include remote working or staggered start and finish
times.
Main duties of the job
- As agreed in co-operative practice with colleagues, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone/video consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, On Call, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion. To include the designated share of workflow and pathology reports.
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- Engaging with activities such as the QOF, LES/DES and other additional work essential for providing a full service for patients
About us
Four
Acre Health Centre is at the heart of the busy community it serves. A
growing practice, it is surrounded by large housing developments and a
well-established housing estate, both predominantly social housing which has
multiple tenants, and some privately owned.
The
practice has invested in becoming a local health hub and has extended its role
as a training practice to support the growing demand for local primary care
services.
The
practice also supports PCN offering rooms for additional staff working as part of
multidisciplinary team such as Mental Health Nurse, Social Prescriber, First
Contact (physio therapist), providing enhanced access to its community.
We also provide our own in-house counselling.
Four Acre
health Centre is a training practice located in West Sutton, St Helens South
and currently serves a patient list size of 8200. The
partnership consists of one clinical and one non-clinical partners, with one GP
trainer, 3 salaried doctors, 2 Nurses, 2 ANPs, 3 Trainees, 3 HCAs, 1
Counsellor, 7 Admin and 10 reception staff.
We arelicensed sponsor under the Skilled Worker immigration route granted by Home Office.

Clinical Responsibilities:

- Collecting data for audit purposes
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
- Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) and the CCG whenever this is clinically appropriate
- In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

- Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety, CQC
- A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice
- Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation
- Contributing to the housekeeping and updating of computer-based patient records.

- Contributing to read-coding patient data
- Attending training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
