This is an exciting new post based in Dorset, designed to
promote and publicise health research across several organisations. You
will work with minimal supervision to increase the visibility and impact of
health research both internally and externally, helping staff understand health
research, inspiring people to take part in clinical trials, and helping
publicise the work of the new commercial research delivery centre (primary
care).
The post holder will work independently on projects in
support of health research in Dorset, specifically The Adam Practice
(TAP), Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (DCH), Dorset HealthCare
University NHS Foundation Trust (DHC) and University Hospitals Dorset NHS
Foundation Trust (UHD).
The post is designed to be multi-media content-generation
specific. Whether a trained journalist or communications professional
looking for your next move, you must be a hands-on, creative and confident
storyteller keen to bring research to life through engaging copy (newsletters,
reports, press releases),
photography, video and social-first content (carousels,
bespoke graphics etc). Anyone without these demonstratable skills will not be
considered.
The role is initially advertised as a one-year contract,
with a view to extending if effectiveness is demonstrated.
Main duties of the job
Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clinical teams, operational colleagues, research partners and industry sponsors.
Act as a key point of contact for communications within the CRDC, providing advice and guidance to colleagues and partners.Represent the CRDC at internal and external meetings and events where required.
Plan, gather and deliver high-quality content for a range of channels, including newsletters, social media, press releases, staff updates, websites, intranet and reports to funding bodies and others.
Tailor messages for different audiences, ensuring communications are clear, engaging and accessible.
Support the development of case studies and success stories to demonstrate the impact of commercial and non-commercial research.
Plan, create and maintain patient-facing CRDC web pages on TAP website
Plan and create marketing and promotional materials for internal and external audiences.
Contribute to the management of digital and social media activity, ensuring alignment with TAP, WHP and partner Trust objectives.
Deliver communications activities that support participant recruitment into commercial research studies. Is the target met, and within the timeframe?
Work with clinical and operational colleagues to ensure recruitment messaging is clear, targeted and effective.

The Adam Practice is a partnership of 16 GPs located across 5 surgeries in Poole, Dorset. This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing primary care team in a forward- thinking, innovative, general practice, which has a current CQC rating ofOutstanding in Care.
Our Research team give the best possible patient care and to benefit our patients. We have been an active research centre for the past 10 years and have worked on early phase studies up to later phase. We are now an accredited NIHR CRDC (Primary Care) facility.
As well as our work at the research hub we are continuing to recruit into complex commercial trials.
