Job summary
We are seeking a highly organised Receptionist/ Administrator to
join our small, busy but friendly team. As the first point of contact for
patients, the Receptionist plays a crucial role in providing excellent
service for our patients. If you have strong administrative skills and a
passion for helping others, we would like to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient information and update records as necessary
- Answer phone calls and respond to enquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the reception area
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and other staff members to ensure efficient workflow
- Complete any relevant clinical forms prior to patients appointments to support the GP in running efficient clinics this may be either in person with the patient or over the phone
- Support the GP to make referrals to hospital departments such as SDEC, A&E and helping arrange patient transport, ambulances etc
- Arrange follow up appointments at the GPs request & support in the clinical management of patients to ensure a smoother process for our patients
- Review any documents sent in by patients and make sure the relevant information is brought to the GPs attention & code information in the patient records
- Review messages received by the practice and signpost patients to the most relevant appointment
- Support GPs during complex patient appointments, helping to input information onto the clinical systems to ensure a smoother process for appointments
- Support the GP with adequate and accurate summarisation of medical records
- Undertake general administrative duties

high QOF achiever. Kirkoswald Surgery has an outstanding CQC assessment and lies in the picturesque Eden Valley, on the edge of the Lake District
