Job summary

We are seeking an on site Dispenser to join our small, busy but friendly team. As a Dispenser, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely dispensing of medications to patients. Your attention to detail and commitment to patient care will contribute to the overall efficient running of our dispensary.

Duties: - Prepare and dispense medications accurately and efficiently - Provide an excellent service by addressing patient enquiries and concerns - Adhere to all dispensary regulations and guidelines - Maintain a clean and organised work environment

Experience and skills: - Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician or Dispenser preferred but not essential as full training can be given - Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills - Great communication skills

Job responsibilities

As a Dispenser you will support the registered GPs with the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications.

The day-to-day tasks and work activities of a Dispenser are varied and the responsibilities include:

  • Dispensing prescription medication to patients
  • Preparing prescriptions for patient collection
  • Ensuring compliance by monitoring the prescription-filing process
  • Carrying out administrative duties and keeping detailed records
  • Engaging with patients and customers to answer their questions and offer advice
  • Liaising directly with healthcare providers and patients
  • Taking an inventory of drugs and placing orders to maintain stock
  • Pricing medications, preparing billing information and completing patient sales and transactions
