Job summary
Eltham Medical Practice is looking to recruit 3 to 4 salaried GPs (4 to 6 sessions each) to join our growing team.
These posts have arisen due to continued growth of the practice. Our patient list has recently expanded to over 27,000 patients, and we are expanding our clinical team to ensure we maintain the quality, continuity and supportive working environment that our clinicians value.
We have had several very successful recent GP appointments through NHS Jobs and other adverts, and many of our newer colleagues have quickly become integral members of the team. These new roles are therefore additional posts to support growth.
We are a large, well-organised and friendly training practice with a strong emphasis on collaboration, learning and sustainability. We aim to provide high quality care for patients while maintaining a realistic and supportive workload for clinicians.
We would welcome applications from GPs with a range of experience levels and interests.
Main duties of the job
The role will include the usual duties of a salaried GP, including:
- Routine and urgent GP clinics
- Telephone and face to face consultations
- Clinical triage
- Participation in practice clinical meetings and case discussions
- Supporting multidisciplinary working across the practice team
We aim to structure clinics in a way that allows clinicians to work efficiently while maintaining high quality patient care.
Workload support includes:
- Low administrative task burden
- Dedicated home visiting team, meaning very limited visits for GPs
- Strong care navigation system
- Well-developed clinical triage processes
We encourage colleagues to develop areas of clinical interest, and we run multiple specialist clinics within the practice.
