Job summary

Provide direct care and support to the patient as delegated by the qualified nurse and Doctors. Maintain a clean safe environment for patients and relatives. Contribute to maintaining the practices philosophy of care. To be able to provide a high standard of nursing care and support to patients.

Main duties of the job

To work closely with the Practice Nursing team and Doctors

New patient health checks

ECG recording

Phlebotomy

Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses

Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording

Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patient's health and well being

Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted

Blood pressure checks

Administering flu (and other) vaccinations

B12 injections

Helping with all other chronic condition monitoring

Assisting GPs with minor surgery

We are looking to expand our clinical team and require an enthusiastic, friendly and Experienced Healthcare Assistant (HCA).

We are looking for candidates with experience in general practice.

The Stanwell Road Surgery team comprises GPs, ANPs, Paramedics, Pharmacists, a highly experienced nursing team, HCA and a supportive management and admin team.

Experience of working in primary care with good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.

Experience of using computers and EMIS ( or System One)

Experience in Phlebotomy

Qualifications

General education to GCSE level or equivalent

Care certificate or willing to work towards

NVQ level 3 in Care
