Job summary

Salary £10'500-11500 per session

4-6 sessions per week

6 weeks annual leave + bank holidays + 2 NHS days (pro rata)

1 week study leave (pro rata)

We're looking for a GP to join us at Wide Way Medical Centre working as part of a broad, multi-disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.

Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.

Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.

In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health management.Providing counselling and health education.

Making appropriate and timely referral of patients for further opinion and treatment

Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards including the recording of appropriate information for the Quality and Outcomes Framework and Enhanced Services.

Appropriate medicine prescribing for both acute and repeat requirement in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary and guidelines whenever this is clinically appropriate.

Timely assessment of incoming electronic and paper correspondence relating to both patient and non patient information as required. Using the appropriate electronic systems.

Participate in training plans of GP registrar, medical and nursing students as required.

About us

Wide Way Medical Centre is part of East Merton Primary Care Network, in Merton, South West London.

We take care of 16'000 patients in a modern, purpose built surgery with ample car parking.

Our team consist of 4 GP Partners plus a Managing Partner, 1 Salaried GP, 2 Advanced Care Practitioners, Practice Nurses, a Paramedic, Clinical Pharmacist, Social Prescriber, Health and Wellbeing Coach, Care Coordinators and a fantastic administrative support team.

We are a training practice with 3 GP trainers with GP registrars, medical students and nursing students.
