Job summary
An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a full
time GP or ANP role to join the primary care team based on St. Marys, Isles of
Scilly. Job share also considered.
Our thriving practice comprises one GP partner and two
salaried GPs, highly skilled nursing staff, and a friendly and welcoming reception
team. We are based in purpose-built premises overlooking the sea, and provide
high quality care to the residents and visitors on these beautiful islands
which make up the Scilly archipelago.
Working closely with colleagues from other health and
social care services, we provide care for our patients both in and out of hours
as well as for the inpatients in the community hospital. Regular clinics are
carried out on the 4 inhabited off islands which are reached by a purpose-built
medical launch.
Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate will be resilient, flexible, and keen
to embrace a traditional and vocational style of general practice where
serving a small community provides the opportunity for the GP to really
understand and meet each patients needs. Urgent care / out of hours experience
is desirable. Other desirable skills to include experience of rural medicine, ability
to perform minor ops and GP registrar supervision (military GP registrars have
a 3-month placement with us).

We are a satellite practice of Helston Medical Centre and
hold an APMS contract together with optometry and pharmacy contracts. System
One is the clinical system used. The practice was rated as outstanding at the
last CQC inspection.
