Workington GP Practice has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join us as a Senior Administrator whose focus will be on improving access to the practice. The role will be responsible for providing efficient and high quality patient access.

The successful candidate will be working in a very active and busy environment, often independently, so a proactive can do attitude is required. Recognising the benefits and adaptability in a changing environment, a commitment to providing high quality service and service development are integral to the role.

Working with the Service Operational Manager, the post holder will provide day to day line management for the Workington calls hub and reception front desk teams. The post holder must be confident at communicating with these teams, supporting ongoing training to ensure the teams are able to support patients to the best of their ability.

The post holder will act as a link between all practice departments to support access improvement work across all departments. They will also communicate with patients directly, answering queries and de-escalating concerns, as well as maintaining wider patient communications through the practice website, ensuring it provides up to date information for patients.

The Senior Administrator will, but not limited to:

Work closely with Service Operational Manager to implement a welcoming and efficient reception service that ensures a positive patient experience

Work closely with Service Operational Manager to provide day to day line management responsibilities of the Workington calls hub and reception front desk services

Develop and implement a high performing calls hub that ensures patients telephone calls are dealt with promptly and in a courteous and efficient manner

Support the practice with the implementation of the Modern General Practice Model and have responsibility for a lead area of the project

Demonstrate strong leadership skills

Management of staff leave including annual leave and sickness management
