Job responsibilities

Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Salaried GP to join our small, friendly team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality medical care to our patients, manage a fixed caseload, and contribute positively to our community-focused practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient consultations and physical examinations in a primary care setting.
• Manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
• Make professional, autonomous decisions for presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred by other healthcare workers within the organization.
• Assess healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
• Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
• Develop care plans in consultation with patients, adhering to current practice disease management protocols.
• Provide counseling and health education.
• Admit or discharge patients from the caseload and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
• Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
• Comply with Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) requirements and participate in delivering enhanced services.
• Issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions, prescribing in accordance with the practice formulary whenever clinically appropriate.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all practice policies and guidelines, including prescribing, data protection, and health and safety.

Personal Specification:

• GMC Registered, not subject to suspension.
• Qualified General Practitioner, currently on a CCG performers list.
• Clear enhanced DBS check.
• Evidence of continuous professional development.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong team player, calm under pressure, and friendly.
• Commitment to ongoing development and bringing fresh ideas to the practice
