Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Business
Manager to join our leadership team at Red Roofs Surgery.
Working closely with the GP Partners and management team,
the post-holder will be responsible for the strategic, financial and
operational management of the practice. The successful candidate will ensure
the effective delivery of services, long-term sustainability, and the highest
standards of patient care.
The Business Manager will play a key role in financial
management, strategic planning, governance, people management and business
development, enabling the practice to achieve its agreed objectives within a
safe, efficient and effective working environment.
Main duties of the job
Financial and Strategic Management
- Oversee all aspects of the practices financial performance and ensure robust financial controls are in place.
- Maximise income and manage expenditure effectively.
- Prepare regular financial forecasts and reports for the Partners.
- Manage practice budgets, rent reimbursement, and enhanced service claims.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, financial and contractual obligations.
- Lead on business planning and delivery of the annual and five-year strategic plans.
Operational and Business Development
- Lead and support the management team to ensure cohesion and alignment with the practice strategy.
- Oversee procurement of equipment, supplies and external service contracts.
- Coordinate the preparation of business cases, reports and development plans.
- Manage estates planning and accommodation requirements, including expansion projects.
- Maintain the Surgery Risk Register and oversee quarterly reviews and updates.
Governance and Leadership
- Provide strategic leadership across the management team.
- Ensure compliance with NHS contractual requirements, legislation, and best practice standards.
- Monitor performance against objectives and drive continuous improvement.
- Liaise with the Integrated Care Board (ICB), Primary Care Network (PCN), and other external stakeholders to ensure appropriate allocation of resources.
