Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Practice Nurse to join our friendly growing team at Alvaston Medical Centre. We are a busy fast paced proactive surgery offering outstanding care to our patients.

Main duties of the job

Key requirements for this role include-

The practice nurses will perform tasks prescribed and delegated by the GPs ANPs and Lead Nurse working unsupervised to Patient Group Directions and agreed protocols. The practice nurse will assess patients and plan, implement and review treatment programmes. The role requires management of Long term conditions, cytology , immunisations and wound care.

Main duties of the job

  • Assessment, management and treatment of LTC conditions within competences.
  • Wound care/dressings/tissue viability
  • Core immunisations - Adult & Child
  • Travel immunisations
  • Cervical cytology

About us

We have 3 Proactive Partners here at Alvaston and a strong clinical team which includes salaried GP's, Physician Associates, ANP's, Practice Nurses and HCA's and as a dispensing practice we have a team of Clinical Pharmacists on site.We have an external team supporting us also, consisting of a Physiotherapists, Midwife, Social Prescribers, Care- coordinators and Mental health nurses. We are also a teaching practice and have registrars and students on site throughout the year.

We are actively expanding our building and team to our growing population and have a strong PPG who engage and support us in gaining patient feedback, thus helping us to identify opportunities to improve our services on offer.

We are easily accessible from the M1, A50 and A52 and a number of our team are based in Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.
