Full Time Medical Receptionist/Administrator Vacancy

Christiana Hartley Medical Practice requires an experienced, full time medical receptionist/administrator to join our well established and busy surgery team.

We are looking for a motivated, hardworking individual with excellent communication skills; who is able to work under pressure and with initiative. Excellent I.T. skills are required.

Main duties of the job

Duties include the following:

  • Opening up/locking-up of Practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with Practice protocols
  • Meet and greet patients in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations. Ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional.
  • Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail
  • Taking messages and passing on information
  • Use practice emails and intranet, while adhering to strict guidelines.
  • Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with Practice guidelines.
  • Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with Practice procedures.
  • To signpost patients to other services, where appropriate.
  • Comply with health and safety policies and procedures

Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way

Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the Practice team

Facilitate effective communication between patients, members the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies
