Job summary
Castle Gardens Surgery is seeking an experienced, part time Acute Practitioner on a permanent basis to assess and manage patients requiring urgent, same-day care. This position is well-suited to an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse seeking leadership and career progression, or a Paramedic.
The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring appropriate follow-up, as well as managing any results and referrals generated during consultations with the support of the GPs.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for delivering safe and effective care to the practice population. This includes assessing and managing patients presenting with urgent, same-day concerns, providing care such as arranging investigations, making referrals, and prescribing medication as appropriate. They will also manage the administration generated from their clinical work, including reviewing results such as swabs, with support from the GP team.

- NMC registration or equivalent
- Minimum of Degree level education or equivalent
- A minimum of 3-5 years Post Qualification Experience
- Proven experience in urgent care/ same day care & treatment
- Proven experience in patient care and team management within a clinical setting.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
