Pharmacist Technician
As part of our expanding clinical team, we are seeking an enthusiastic
and motivated PharmacistTechnician to support the delivery of
safe, effective systems for repeat prescriptions, medicines optimisation, waste
reduction, and maximising patient outcomes.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication
skills, strong attention to detail, and a positive, professional attitude. You
will be confident in working with patients, colleagues, and surgery staff both
in person and over the telephone.

Main duties of the job
The Pharmacist Technician will work alongside the prescription and
practice team to assist in maximising safe, cost-effective best practice to
improve the quality of patient care. They will play an important role in helping
patients to get the best from their medicines through effective medicine
reconciliations after discharge. They will also carry out medication reviews
and deal with prescription queries and promotion of on-line medication ordering
and identifying suitability of electronic repeat prescription services.

Haresfield Surgery, located within the Worcester City locality, provides general medical services to approximately18,300 patients. Our team includes six Partners, eight Salaried GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Registrars, GP Clinical Pharmacists, a dedicated Management Team, and a strong Nursing workforce, all supported by skilled Care Navigators and Administrators.
Our primary premises was purpose-built in 2006, and offers superb, modern facilities within the heart of Worcester City. We also have a dispensing branch surgery in the nearby rural village of Kempsey.
The practice benefits from EMIS WEB clinical software and is active in the education and training of both GP Registrars and Medical Students.
We are a well-established training practice with a long standing partnership with the University of Birmingham Medical School. Ideally situated, the surgery offers excellent transport links to nearby towns and villages.

- Carry out audits and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
- Assist the implementation of local and national prescribing guidelines

- To liaise where necessary with community pharmacists and other pharmacists in relation to medicine optimisation

Training requirements will be monitored by yearly appraisal. Personal development will be encouraged and supported by the Practice. It is the individuals responsibility to remain up to date with recent developments.
Place of Work
The main place of work will be based at Haresfield Surgery, but there may be times when travel is required to the practice branch Surgery in Kempsey.
