The
practice is looking to recruit adispenser / technician to join our
dispensing team.
The suitable candidate will ideally be
qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy services
Flexibility, good team working skills,
coupled with the ability to work efficiently unsupervised is essential, along
with the desire to deliver an outstanding patient experience.
The successful applicant will be
entitled to 5.6 weeks annual leave per year with additional bank holidays and
will also be automatically enrolled into the NHS Pension Scheme
Salary will be dependant on experience.
Main duties of the job
The following are the core responsibilities of the Dispenser. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
Dispensing acute and repeat prescriptions following the practice SOPs.
Updating patients medication records on doctors instructions.
Dealing with patients at the front desk, handing out medication and dealing with any queries as they arise.
Checking colleagues dispensing (dependant on experience/qualifications)
Dispensing weekly medication into Nomad packaging and checking Nomad packs (dependant on experience)
Ensuring the dispensary area remains clean and tidy.
Recording transfer of Controlled medication stock via online CD register.

Collecting prescription charges in accordance with dispensary protocol
Maintaining stock levels within the dispensary, liaising with the dispensary manager to facilitate reordering
Receiving and storing supplies in accordance with current policy, ensuring the cold chain is maintained where applicable
Safe disposal of returned and / or out of date medicines
Preparing prescriptions for submission to the NHSBA for payment each month
Using Docman to check patients discharge summaries and clinic letters when required
Communicate effectively with the Dispensary Team, wider practice team and patients

vibrant team spirit begins with our wonderful six doctors and the staff of the
Over Wyre Medical Centre which includes a practice pharmacist (Chris Hill), practice manager (John MacPhee), dispensary manager (Emily Duke), secretaries, receptionist and administrative staff, nurse practitioners,
practice nurses, health care assistants and dispensers.
In
addition to the staff mentioned above, NHS England also employ several staff
who work from within the medical centre. These include district nurses, health
visitors, a midwife, podiatrist, and physio.
This
