About the Role:Working closely with the Practice Manager, the Reception Supervisor/Assistant Practice Manager will help ensure the smooth and efficient running of the practice. This is a key leadership role involving direct supervision of the reception team, evening reception cover, and contributing to overall service delivery and patient experience.

Main duties of the job
The following are the core responsibilities of this role. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks.
- Assist the Practice Manager with various projects, systems, and procedures.
- Support the Practice Manager in the management and maintenance of practice policies, procedures, and compliance registers.
- Supporting the Practice Manager to arrange internal and external meetings, including preparing agendas and producing meeting minutes.
- Draft and distribute the quarterly practice newsletter.
- Overseeing Google reviews and NHS Choice Feedback.
- Provide support in recruiting new staff, including managing pre-employment checks, induction, and DBS.
- Oversee and monitor the staff appraisal process, ensuring staff development goals are set and achieved.
- Deputise for the Practice Manager in their absence
- Provide initial guidance to patients who wish to verbally complain.
- Cover reception duties in the evenings as required, ensuring that patient services are managed effectively during these hours.
- Provide leadership and direction to the reception and admin teams, ensuring a high standard of patient care and service delivery.
- Assist the Practice Manager in reviewing and managing contracts for external services (e.g., cleaning)

This role has been created to support the Practice Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the practice and to provide cover or advice during their absence.
Working closely under the direction of the Practice Manager, the postholder will help improve standards across a broad range of clinical and administrative activities. This position is ideal for someone eager to take initiative, develop their skills, and progress their career within the practice.
Main Responsibilities

Promote, monitor, and document performance and quality standards within the practice using both IT systems and manual processes, under the guidance of the Practice Manager.
