Job summary
Wycliffe Surgery are looking for a clinical pharmacist to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be an independent prescriber or completing training to become a prescriber and have experience in working in primary care,to work with and alongside the team.
They must have therapeutic and clinical knowledge and understanding of the principles of evidence-based healthcare with an interest in cardiovascular medicine.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of the general practice team to take a proactive approach to patient care.
Carry out structured medical reviews for patients with on-going health problems and working to improve patient safety, outcomes and Value through a person - centred approach
Providing useable and accurate medicine - related information to practice staff and patients.
Ensure confidentiality of patient and company information as required by the Data Protection Act

Wycliffe Surgery has a growing list size near the centre of Plymouth in Devon. Bordered by the moors, sea and Cornwall it is an attractive place to live. There are many good schools and colleges and benefits from an excellent university and medical school.
We are a well-established and highly respected training practice for GPs, nurses & medical students . We are a PMS practice with 10500+ patients, CQC rated good and high QOF achievers.
We currently have 3 clinical partners, 4 salaried GPs, a dedicated team of practice nurses, HCAs, Phlebotomists, a nursing associate and a large administration team.
We also benefit from a range of PCN staff including pharmacists, pharmacy techs, social prescribers, paramedics, counsellors, and physiotherapists.

- An appreciation of the nature of GPs and general practice.
- Experience and an awareness of common acute and chronic conditions that are likely to be seen in general practice.
Desirable
- Minimum of two years working as a pharmacist demonstrated within a practice portfolio
- Experience in managing pharmacy services in primary care
- In-depth therapeutic and clinical knowledge and understanding of the principles of evidence-based healthcare
- Understanding of the mentorship process
