Church Stretton Medical Practice is looking for a new 6 session GP to join our team in Summer 2026.
Church Stretton is an historic market town situated in the heart of the South Shropshire hills which is an area of outstanding natural beauty. A haven for walkers, runners, cyclists, mountain biking, golf and even gliding! There are excellent rail and road links and easily commutable from the larger towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow.
Church Stretton, Shrewsbury and Ludlow have excellent local schools, theatre, quirky independent shopping, festivals, top class restaurants and pubs.
Main duties of the job
Duties as expected of a GP whether in a partner or salaried position.
An interest in Women's Health would be valued.

The medical practice itself has a list size of around 7,200 and is a well-run, happy practice with 5 partners. We place a high value on our work life balance and supporting each other, meeting daily for clinical coffee time.
There is room to develop your own interests and skills. We have a stable workforce. We pride ourselves on our caring and personal approach. We are a well-established training practice taking on ST2 and ST3 trainees as well as fourth year students from Keele University.
We are hoping for a partner but are flexible for both role and sessional commitment.

To see patients daily to care for their general well-being, main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Complying with all legislation applicable to practising medicine
- Conducting physical examinations, tests or procedures to diagnose patients
- Maintaining accurate medical records for all patients
- Making recommendations for lifestyle changes to improve the patients quality of life
- Prescribing medication, treatment or therapy to patients
- Explaining test results and medical procedures to patients
- Training junior Doctors and other healthcare professionals
- Consulting with other Doctors about the specialised needs of some patients
