Job summary
This is a vital hybrid
front-line and administrative position in a busy, patient-focused general
practice. You will serve as the welcoming first point of contact for patients
while performing essential behind-the-scenes tasks to support accurate record-keeping,
efficient referrals, and smooth practice operations. The role combines
excellent customer service with technical administrative skills, including
clinical coding and managing electronic referrals via the NHS e-Referral
Service (e-RS).

- Accuratelycode clinical letters, hospital correspondence, and results (using Read/SNOMED codes) into the patient record on GP systems (e.g., EMIS, SystmOne, Vision).
- Process and manageelectronic referrals(primarily via NHS e-RS), including creating referrals, attaching documents, tracking progress, and handling routine/urgent pathways.
- Perform general admin duties: scanning/filing, updating records, repeat prescriptions, patient registration, and supporting the clinical team.
- Uphold strict confidentiality, GDPR compliance, and contribute to practice targets (e.g., QOF where applicable).
