Job summary
As a Receptionist, you will support staff with the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
No day is ever the same, and we would love to have you on our team!
The post-holder will be an integral part of the general practice team.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a part-time, permanent Receptionist to join our fantastic team.
Hours available (16.5 hours over 3 days, starting as soon as possible):
Monday: 8:00am 1:30pm
Wednesday: 8:00am 1:30pm
Friday: 1:30pm 7:00pm
The role involves supporting patients over the telephone, in person, and online.

About us
Our team includes 2 GP partners, 5 salaried GPs, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 2 Practice Nurses, and 2 Health Care Assistants. Through our PCN ARRS staff, were fortunate to have a dedicated Clinical Pharmacist, Social Prescriber, and Care Coordinators. Additionally, we have weekly access to 1 physiotherapist and 1 Mental Health Practitioner.
The clinicians are supported by a highly skilled administrative team, with the Reception team at its core. Therefore, having a strong reception management structure is essential to maintaining the smooth operation of the practice.

Job responsibilities
Answer incoming telephone calls, transferring them or handling the callers request appropriately.
Signpost patients to the appropriate service.
Manage all queries efficiently and as required.
Provide holiday and sickness cover when needed.
Maintain a clean, tidy, and effective working area at all times.
Process appointment requestsboth same-day and futurevia telephone and in person.
Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system.
Process patients change of address and maintain knowledge of the practice boundary area.
Process repeat prescription requests in line with practice guidelines.
Complete data entry for new and temporary registrations and update patient information as required.
Carry out other administrative tasks as needed.
Clear consulting rooms after surgeries.
Ensure building security, including thorough knowledge of doors, windows, and alarms.
Undertake any additional tasks allocated by management.
