Job summary
We are looking for a motivatedand enthusiastic individual to join our Sid Valley Practice team to provide exceptional service to our patients and support the clinical team. Medical Reception and Secretarial experience are desirable, but not essential as full training will be given to the right applicant. Full time or part time hours considered.
Sid Valley Practice is open between 8am and 6pm and we require the successful applicant to work a mix of 8am starts and 6pm finishes.
The successful applicate must:
- have the ability to manage and prioritise an ever changing fast paced workload.
- have good IT skills.
- possess good organisational and communication skills.
- be able to multi-task.
- have a caring approach to patients.

Job Summary
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors.Provide general support to the doctors, health professionals and senior management team.Provide exceptional patient care and high levels of service to all patients.

Job Responsibilities
- Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients.
- Deal with any enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.
- Ensure patients with no prior appointment but who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner.
- Explain Practice arrangement and formal requirement to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are completed and protocols followed.
- Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail.
- Enter patient information accurately on to the clinical system as required.
- Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and tidy in turn with other staff.
- Ensure the waiting room is kept tidy in turn with other staff.
- Open up the premises at the start of the day, deactivate the alarm and make all necessary preparation to receive patients.
- At the end of the day, ensure that all doctors rooms are cleared down and prepare all necessary preparations for the next working day.
- Provide accurate processing and submitting of referrals ensuring that any urgent/2 week wait referrals are given priority.
- Action all tasks in a timely manner.
- Action TEP forms as per protocol.
Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Partners or Management.
