Main duties of the job
To support the partners and other
members of the Primary Health Care Team in providing a full range of clinical
services to a high standard for the benefit of all our registered patients and
non-registered patients where necessary.
Ensure clinical notes are accurate,
up to date and appropriate
Ensure qualifications are maintained
and updated as necessary and undertake appropriate
training/retraining/revalidation as required to perform the duties of the role.
Follow procedures and protocols as
defined

We are an enthusiastic training practice, over 2 sites in the Burncross/High Green area of Sheffield.

Job responsibilities
You will be available to undertake a variety of duties including:
Surgery consultations
Telephone consultations and queries
Emergency consultations
Home visits
Monitoring and authorising and signing repeat prescriptions
Reviewing and actioning test results
Making appropriate referrals to secondary care and other outside agencies
Make professional autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within or from outside the organisation
Use the computer system for :
Recording clear and appropriate notes from consultations- face to face or by telephone, or other sources, in accordance with agreed protocols and to an agreed standard.
Compiling and issuing computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions
Prescribing in accordance with practice policy, local initiatives and national guidelines.
Acting as duty doctor on rotation.
