Main duties of the job
In accordance with the practice timetable, as
agreed the post-holder will make him/herself available to undertake a variety
of duties including:
- Surgery
consultations and emergencies
- Home
visits.
- Compiling
and issuing computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions including using electronic
prescribing services
- Prescribing
in accordance with national guidelines
- Patient
medical reports and examinations (e.g. insurance reports) on behalf of the
practice
- Referral
letters (NHS and private)
- Managing
paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner.
- Dealing
with hospital correspondence
- Checking
and managing pathology and test results
- Assessing
the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Screening
patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- In
consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management
protocols, developing care plans for health
- Providing
counselling and health education
- Admitting
or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care
providers as appropriate
- Recording
clear and contemporaneous computer based consultation notes to agreed standards
- In
general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties
and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care
- Complete
care plans required for local enhanced services
About us
Kingswood Surgery is a long-established and friendly Practice located in Tunbridge Wells on the Kentish border, about 30 miles southeast of Central London. We lie close to the border with East Sussex on the northern edge of the High Weald surrounded by many areas of outstanding beauty.
Kingswood surgery is a training practice with 4 partners and 6 salaried GPs. All supported by a Paramedic Practitioner, a strong nursing team together with exceptional reception and administrative support teams. A forward-thinking practice serving approximately 11,300 patients with an overall CQC rating of GOOD. We utilise EMIS Web and Anima, providing a wide range of enhanced services.

- Evidence of appropriate professional indemnity cover
