KINGSWOOD SURGERY Medical Secretary (Medical knowledge desirable but not necessary)
We are looking for an
enthusiastic and committed Medical Secretary to join our
thriving patient-focused team, providing NHS services to our 11,600
patients. Ideally we would be looking for a Medical Secretary to join our professional and supportive team of clinicians as soon as possible. We are
an EMIS Web Practice with 10 doctors, operating from
a modern upgraded premises.
Main duties of the job
Primary Responsibilities
The
following are the core responsibilities of the medical secretary.There
may be, on occasion, a requirement to
carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and
staffing levels:
a.
Typing
letters, reports and associated documentation as required
b.
Liaising
with external agencies such as hospitals and community services, ensuring
referrals are processed efficiently
c.
Manage
all enquires in an effective manner
d.
Maintain
an accurate referrals database
e.
Action
all incoming emails
f.
Process
letters as requested
g.
Input
data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
h.
Process
referrals using the electronic referral system (ERS) /ERS worklist
i.
Read
code data on EMIS Web.
j.
Answer
incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request
appropriately
k.
Manage
all administrative queries as necessary
l.
Carry
out system searches as requested
a.
Maintain
a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
b.
Tasks
on EMIs & Docman
c.
Ability
to prioritise work
d.
Franking
Machine upkeep
e.
Post
in/out
f.
Death
certificate process
g.
Support
all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested
Secondary Responsibilities
