Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Paramedic to join our team.

As a paramedic in a busy GP surgery you would need to work within the Surgery using your skills and clinical judgement to provide a first point of contact for our patients that present to us with minor illness/conditions.

Main duties of the job

To support and work alongside the GP's who deal with all the acute/on-the-day patients. This role will involve assessment, diagnosis and treatment of these patients who present with undiagnosed conditions.

About us

The Foxhayes Surgery is based in Exwick, Exeter, and we are part of the West Exe PCN. As part of the PCN the practice benefits from a multidisciplinary team of clinical pharmacists, first contact practitioners, paramedics, social prescribers, and dieticians. We care for 3,800 patients, and we are a training practice. We have a very good team ethic at the practice and all work together to ensure high quality care is given to our patients.

  • - Experience of the ECP/Advanced Practitioner role within Primary or Secondary Care
  • - Basic IT skills in word processing and e-mail

Desirable

  • - Experience in using System One
  • - Non-medical prescriber with minimum 12-24 months experience

Qualifications

Essential

  • - Framework for Higher Education Qualification (FHEQ) Level 7 or Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCOF) Level 11
  • - Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration

Desirable

  • - BSc in a training programme approved by the College of Paramedics
  • - Non-medical prescribing qualification
  • - Evidence of verification against the paramedic primary care roadmap
