Strategic Manager

Job summary

North Cornwall Coast Primary Care Network is looking for a highly motivated and well-organised individual to take responsibility for all aspects of the PCN.

The role sits perfectly within primary care to make the most of opportunities provided by the GP Contract and PCN Directed Enhanced Service (DES).

The PCN Manager will have operational responsibility for various functions of the PCN. They are responsible for the delivery and monitoring of projects and services committed to, or commissioned by, the PCN. Providing HR and public relations support, they will also provide an oversight of the financial management, resourcing and regulatory compliance of the work of the PCN and provide strategic advice in order to take the PCN forward.

The successful candidate will need to be aware of the requirements of the PCN DES contract and be able to communicate effectively with the key stakeholders in the PCN in order to develop the network, encourage its growth and deliver its commitment to personalised care.

Main duties of the job

The Strategic Manager will provide leadership across the PCN and focus on the following key responsibilities-

Strategy and Leadership - operational leadership to PCN staff and board including line management

PCN Workforce - leading the team and developing future workforce plans

Governance - ensure good governance of the PCN both a clinical and corporate perspective

Communication and Relationships - develop robust communication across PCN staff, PCN practices and external organisations

Finance - oversee the daily management of PCN finances to ensure best value for money for NHS resources and financial balance

Project management - support project management across the PCN to deliver workstreams

IM&T - report on local and nation indicators and ensure appropriate IT is deployed to support PCN staff

The PCN covers Bottreaux Surgery, Port Isaac Surgery,and Wadebridge & Camel Estuary Medical Practice across a beautiful rural geography.
