Job summary
This is an excellent opportunity to join our team of dynamic
and forward thinking receptionists based over two sites.
Hours: 24 hours per week
Working days: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri afternoons until 6:30 pm
Interview date: Thursday 2nd April 2026
Main duties of the job
You will be the first point of contact for patients and will
project a positive and friendly image to both patients and other visitors,
either in person or via the telephone.
You will receive, assist and direct patients in accessing
the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient
and effective manner.
You will also undertake a variety of administrative duties
to assist in the smooth running of the practices.
About us
Glenpark & Teams Medical Partnership has been serving
the population of Dunston, Teams and the surrounding area for over 100 years.
The Practices are situated with easy access to the A1 and
the Metro Centre.
The Practice boundary covers Dunston, Whickham, Swalwell,
Lobley Hill, Teams and some of Bensham.

* Greet patients and visitors to the practice and maintain a
welcoming disposition at all times
* Answer general enquiries and explain surgery practice and
procedures.
* Navigate patients to the most appropriate professional
* Register new NHS patients, and supply all new patients
with the essential information about the practice.
* Receive and process requests for repeat prescriptions
* Record and pass on electronic messages to district Nurses,
Health Visitors and other attached staff where appropriate
* Arrange follow-up appointments with doctors, nurses and
other health professionals
* Answer all telephone calls in a courteous manner and deal
with them appropriately

- Availability to work over two sites between 7.00am and 8.00pm. Availability to cover sickness & holidays.

- Experience of working in General Practice or the NHS environment would be highly desirable.
- Knowledge of EMIS Web clinical systems.
- Pleasant and articulate.
- Experience of working with public/patients
- Experience of working in primary care
