Job summary
Glenpark Medical Practice is looking for a Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive Nursing/HCA team. The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse with Primary Care experience and up to date skills in a range of primary care services.
The role is rewarding and will suit someone who is enthusiastic, motivated and a good team player.
Main duties of the job
Essential to the job would be training in childhood immunisations and cervical cytology, and we are looking for someone who is available to start as soon as possible due to a member of our team leaving.
As well as treatment room skills, experience of long term condition management/ Year of Care and family planning, or enthusiasm to have training in these areas, would also be essential.

Our clinical team consists of GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Nurses, and HCAs. We also have a very active Primary Care Network and share access to Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Social Prescribing Link Workers and Physiotherapists.
We opened our new purpose-built building in 2019, we use the EMIS web clinical system.

Chaperoning and assisting patients who are being examined by other clinicians where appropriate

Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to other nurses and GPs as appropriate
Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by nurses and GPs
Participate in maintaining Nurse's rooms, stocking and rotating items as required
Undertake housekeeping duties including general tidiness and cleanliness of nurse's and treatments rooms, maintaining a 'clear work surface' culture
Ordering stock where appropriate
Ordering vaccinations where appropriate
Maintaining accurate and contemporaneous records at all times
Attend and participate in any meetings when required
Any other delegated duties appropriate to the role
Flexibility of working to ensure sufficient cover is provided for nurse holidays/sickness
Supporting PCN work where needed
Maintain effective liaison with other agencies & staff concerned with patient care
