EMIS WEB TRAINED MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST.

Upper Norwood Group Practice is looking for Medical Recpetionists to work in a very busy GP surgery in London SE19 2NT. You will be working on the surgery's front desk, providing an excellent reception service for patients using Emis Web. 20hrs p/w

Medical Receptionist will have at least 6 months recent experience working in NHS GP surgery. Be confident in using Emis Web(& Docman experience is highly desirable).Be happy to undergo DBS check or have a DBS certificate dated within a year. BE FLEXIBLE, RELIABLE AND PROFESSIONAL.

Main duties of the job

Job Duties: Greeting and welcoming visitors, Managing correspondence, Carrying out requests from management as needed, Answering emails and sorting post, Answering phone calls and transferring them as necessary

About us

Practice list size is 15,000. 10 Doctors, 2 Practice Nurses, 5 Administration Team and 11 Receptionists.Situated near Crystal Palace Station. Very friendly Team.

Job responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION

The priority is to provide a Professional and understanding contact for patients. Those attending and calling the surgery

To provide: reception services and support to all members of the practice team.

RESPONSIBLE TO: The Practice - Allocated Practice Lead

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Reception duties:

Making appointments and checking patients into surgery

All practice related patient requirements

Filing medical records administrating prescriptions requirements - Electronically and manually

Dealing with patient notes and requests from GP / Nurses

Dealing with incoming and outgoing post both hard copies and electronic

Attending training and meetings as required

2. General duties:

Communicate with patients when handling appointment details

3. Additional duties:

Assist with all administration, in addition allocated information process in the Practice TBC

The Practice is proactive. It is an ever-changing workplace. Additional duties and there requirements are often on an on demand basis.

Specific administration roles are allocated and protected time is allowed for additional duties duties Managerial assistance role

PERSON SPECIFICATION FOR THE POST OF

RECEPTIONIST

Essential

Ability to organise workload priorities

Ability to use own judgement and initiative when dealing with problems and enquiries

Good verbal and oral communication skills

Excellent telephone manner

Ability to communicate positively with patients and all members of the practice team and outside organisations

Ability to recognise, accept and adhere to the need for strict confidentiality

Good knowledge of English language and grammar

Ability to work independently, but also as a team member

To understand and work within the confidentiality and safeguarding requirements as determined by the Practice policies, Procedures and training

Desirable

Experience in a healthcare environment
