Queens Park Medical Centre is a busy GP practice based in Stockton-on-Tees. We are seeking a Scanning and Coding Clerk to join our friendly team. Full or part time considered
The post holder will be highly motivated in working as part of a team to provide excellent administrative support to the clinical team.
If you are adaptable, work accurately and happy to work to deadlines, you have what this role needs! You will join an experienced team, working to complete all functions involved in the preparation, scanning and coding of all patient correspondence.
Main duties of the job
The primary responsibility is to accurately read all patient related communications, identify the relevant information and code in the patient electronic record.
Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice.

We are a large, busy practice with 18,700 patients. We have 10 GPs, 4 Nurse Practitioners, a practice Pharmacist, 5 Practice Nurses, 4 HCAs, an FCP, a social prescribing team, mental health practitioners, prescribing team and a superb group of

Job responsibilities
- Responsible for document management and the timely processing of all incoming electronic mail
- Clinical coding of correspondence where appropriate
- Monitor email accounts and action correspondence
- Support other staff members assigned to assist in document management
- Ensure all work is accurate and completed in a timely manner
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Monitor and check tasks and work flows to ensure a prompt response and action
- Communicate effectively with the administrative team to ensure policies and procedures are kept up to date
- Keep directories and data bases up to date to ensure an efficient work flow
- Process all deaths, liaising with the relevant agencies
- Process all safeguarding requests in an efficient manner
- Photocopying
- Attend meetings when required
- To work safely at all times in accordance with legislation and Practice policies and procedures
- Be flexible both in the availability and being able to cover for colleagues absent from work due to annual leave or sickness
- Any other reasonable duties requested by the Practice Manager, Administration Manager or GP
