Job summary

Working as a practice nurse at East Leicester Medical Practice will provide you with the unique opportunity to provide holistic, patient-centred care within the heart of the community. The role is varied and rewarding, ranging from health promotion and disease prevention to managing long-term conditions, delivering vaccinations, and offering lifestyle support. Main duties of the job

  • Health promotion & prevention delivering lifestyle advice, smoking cessation, weight management, and health checks.

  • Chronic disease management supporting patients with conditions such as diabetes, asthma, COPD, and hypertension through regular reviews and education.

  • Immunisations & vaccinations providing childhood immunisations, travel vaccines, flu and COVID vaccinations etc.

  • Screening services carrying out cervical cytology, NHS health checks, and other routine screening programmes.

  • Wound care & dressings managing acute and chronic wounds, suture removal, and post-operative care.

  • Treatment room duties blood pressure checks, blood tests, ECGs, and ear care.

  • Patient education & support helping patients understand and manage their health conditions, medicines, and lifestyle changes.

  • Collaboration with the GP team working alongside doctors, HCAs, and other staff to deliver safe, effective, and holistic care.

  • aiding in the delivery of research - one day a week the role will support the delivery of research within the practice
