Job summary

We are looking for a Receptionist/secretary to work 16 hrs pw between 8:00am - 7:30pm. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic, motivated and hard-working receptionist to join our busy practice to provide an efficient and friendly reception service for all our patients and visitors, and to provide effective administrative support to our doctors and members of the clinical team.

It will be important for you to facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.

Ideally, you will be experienced in general practice, have excellent IT skills and be familiar with EMIS Web. You will need to be flexible and reliable with the ability to work under pressure to complement our dedicated team.

Main duties of the job

Duties will include:

  • Covering reception,
  • Answering telephone
  • Booking appointments
  • Patient Deduction
  • Other surgery related duties (Prescriptions, Patients referrals, Registration, Patient Recall, stock check, message taking etc.)

We are a friendly practice in a pleasant purpose built premises.

We are looking for a motivated applicant to join our team. A good telephone manner and experience with dealing with the public required. Past NHS experience on EMIS Web is desirable but not necessary as training will be given, although a competent level of keyboard/IT skills essential.

Monday & Tuesday - 3:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Wednesday & Friday - 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

About us

We are a small friendly, forward-looking practice with a practice population of approximately 5000 patients.

Our team comprise 2 Partners, 3 Locum GP, 1 Practice Nurses and 1 clinical pharmacist, together with a strong and hard-working Administrative team.

We are an accredited training practice and teach and support Medical students at different levels.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • No Weekends
