Job description

Job responsibilities

To be responsible for the read coding of relevant information into patients electronic healthcare records on the clinical system.

In addition, the post holder will support the multi-disciplinary team, providing administrative support as required, in line with the needs of the organisation.

The following are the core responsibilities of the Data Administrator. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.

  1. Accurately clinically coding data on the clinical system into the patient record
  2. Identifying relevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence, coding appropriately and completing any detailed action
  3. Ensuring the appropriate clinician is aware of any action required in relation to patient correspondence.
  4. Inputting and extracting data as required to support practice reports
  5. Filing and storing records as required
  6. Photocopying documentation as required
  7. Actioning all incoming correspondence, emails and mail in a timely manner
  8. Scanning patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records
  9. Inputting data into patients healthcare records as necessary
  10. Answering incoming telephone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
  11. Carrying out system searches as requested
  12. Maintaining a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
  13. Supporting all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested
