Woodstock Bower has an exceptional team of staff who are highly committed to providing a first class service to our patient population. We are now seeking a further Healthcare Assistant to assist the GPs and practice nursing team in the service and delivery of care management to the practice population.
Main duties of the job
You will undertake, record and follow current guidelines for procedures which you have received appropriate training:
Anticoagulation clinics, B12 vaccinations, aural care, suture removal, diabetic foot checks, NHS health checks, Teledermatology, BP checks, Venepuncture, ECGs and supporting patients in long term planning.

Woodstock Bower is a well established surgery serving over 11000 patients and comprising of 3 GP Partners, 1 Salaried GP, 2 long term locums, an advanced clinical practitioner, 5 practice nurses, 2 HCAs, a practice manager, an assistant practice manager and a robust team of administrative support.
We are part of Rotherham Central North PCN which gives us a wider team and consists of physiotherapists, mental health workers, admiral nurses and social prescribers.

To assist the GPs
and practice nurse team in the service and delivery of the care management of
the practice population
Responsible to: The Practice Manager and ultimately, the GP Partners.
The post holder
works under direct supervision of the Partners and undertakes task and
duties delegated by the practice nursing team. They will work collaboratively
with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, following policy
and procedures while providing supervision to more junior staff.

identified, including hand washing/PPE, universal hygiene procedures, collection and handling of laboratory speciments, segregation and disposal of waste materials, decontamination of instruments and clinical equipment, reporting and treatment of sharps injuries, dealing with blood and body fluid spillages, assist patients and colleagues in adopting sound infection control measures.

disposal of vaccines and drugs within area of responsibility

aid and resuscitation to be able to undertake initial actions as
