The Glyndon Medical Centre is a long established 7500 patient NHS GP Practice within the borough of Greenwich

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time medical receptionist to join our friendly practice team. The position is for 16.5 hours a week over 3 afternoons Mon, Tues, Thurs 12.30-3.30pm + 8am 3.30pm Friday. The successful applicant will at times be expected to work over two sites to cover staff sickness and annual leave.

Main duties of the job

Providing efficient and friendly reception service for all patients and visitors to the Glyndon medical Centre and Samuel Street Surgery

Making appointments for all clinicians

Providing efficient and effective admin support to clinical and admin staff

Providing admin support regarding e mails and referrals

Support for scanning and photocopying duties

Dealing with new patient medical records

Contribution to the future development of the practice

Job responsibilities

The Glyndon Medical Centre is a long established 7500 patient NHS GP Practice within the borough of Greenwich

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time medical receptionist to join our friendly practice team. The position is for 16.5 hours a week over 3 afternoons 12.30 - 3.30pm, 8am - 3.30pm Fridays. The successful applicant will at times be expected to work over two sites to cover staff sickness and annual leave.

You will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors and supporting health professional teams. You will need to have the skills to resolve and manage issues that arise and be able to prioritise your workload, be flexible for the needs of the business and work within a team setting and able to consider business constraints and service user needs. You will also need to have a consistent and compassionate approach with our service users at all times.

Liaising with patients and colleagues is a key part of the role, therefore you must have an excellent telephone manner and great communication skills. Good IT skills and experience are essential.

The diverse and challenging role includes working with our back office admin team where you should have an eye for details, be extremely organised and able to prioritise conflicting demands to meet strict deadlines.

The post holder will be reliable, trustworthy, have excellent customer service skills, a caring and empathetic manner. Experience in customer service role, office administrator role and previous NHS employment is an advantage but not essential.
