We are looking for a friendly, motivated and patient focused Medical Receptionist to join our supportive practice team. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in creating a positive experience from the moment they get in touch. The role has set hours as follows:
Wednesday 7.45 to 17.45
Thursday 8.30 to 18.30
Friday 10.00 to 20.00 (18.30 to 20.00 at an enhanced rate)
There is also the necessity to provide cover for staff leave and sickness during our opening hours which may also be on your day off. There is also the opportunity to work for our Extended Access Service in the evenings and weekends at an enhanced rate.
Main duties of the job
As a Medical Receptionist, you will support the smooth running of the practice by managing patient contact and essential administrative tasks. Your work will include handling incoming calls, greeting patients at reception, booking and amending appointments, and directing queries to the appropriate team members. You will process prescription requests, update patient records accurately, and help maintain an organised and efficient reception environment. The role involves working closely with clinicians and administrative colleagues to keep patient flow running safely and effectively throughout the day.
