Job summary

Our current nurse has been with us for 13 years and is now retiring. Richmond Lock Surgery is therefore looking for an experienced part time Practice Nurse (Band 5/6) to join our friendly team.

Our Practice Nurse will provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to our patients. The post holder will play a key role in delivering treatment room services, managing long-term conditions, supporting preventative health initiatives and contributing to the achievement of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and enhanced service targets.

The role requires a high level of clinical autonomy, strong clinical decision-making skills and the ability to support the development of other members of the nursing team.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will provide a wide range of treatment room services, including wound care, immunisations (childhood and adult), cervical screening, travel, ECGs, and phlebotomy. You will play a key role in managing long-term conditions such as diabetes, asthma, COPD, and hypertension, supporting patients with education and self-management.

About us

Richmond Lock Surgery is a busy General Practice located in modern premises close to the River Thames on the Twickenham/Isleworth borders. You will join another nurse and healthcare assistant in our friendly and supportive surgery with approximately 7,500 patients.

Practice Nurse (Band 5/6) Richmond Lock Surgery

Richmond Lock Surgery is looking for a motivated and experienced Practice Nurse to join our friendly team for 20-25 hours per week. This role offers the chance to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care in a supportive primary care environment.

You will provide a wide range of treatment room services, including wound care, immunisations (childhood and adult), cervical screening, travel health, ECGs, and phlebotomy. You will also manage long-term conditions such as diabetes, asthma, COPD, and hypertension, supporting patients with education and self-management. Other responsibilities include managing clinical stock, vaccines, and emergency drugs, performing infection control audits, and ensuring equipment is maintained and calibrated. You will also support and supervise junior nursing staff and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.

We are seeking a registered nurse with strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and up-to-date training in immunisations and cervical screening. A commitment to continuous professional development and high standards of patient care is essential.

We offer: NHS Band 5/6 salary (dependent on experience), 5 weeks annual leave (pro rata) plus bank holidays, a supportive team, and opportunities for ongoing training and development.
