Job summary

Mount Road Practice are looking for a part-time salaried GP to join an ambitious, forward thinking and supportive team. The available opportunity will include working 5 sessions a week,2 out of every 5 sessions worked will be on-call. The remaining sessions worked will be standard clinical sessions.

Main duties of the job

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract.

A standard session is 4 hours 10 min. In all advertised role options we offer administrative time in excess of the BMA Standard Contract. Matching the clinical sessions of partners, 10 minute appointments are usually scheduled with some catch up slots, however, this can be flexible to accommodate personal preferences, provided that the same number of patient encounters are delivered (i.e. admin time can be used for catch-up throughout the day).

The clinical sessions will consist of a mix of face-to-face and telephone consultations. The appointments are default face to face appointments, unless the patients requests a telephone appointment.

On-call days cover core hours for General Medical Services and are structured differently. Currently the On-call GP timetable has no pre-booked appointments, allowing for time to field urgent queries, provide clinical oversight and supervision as necessary, as well as complete administrative tasks. Our PCN Paramedic is primarily responsible for urgent home visits; the on-call GP only has to undertake visits if the patients need is particularly complex, palliative or in the unusual circumstances that the visiting capacity has been used up. Home visits are normally a maximum of one per doctor per week.

About us

At the heart of what we do, is our vision to deliver personalised and high quality patient centred care and in order to achieve this, we strive to be outstanding in all we do and how we do it.

Mount Road Practice, (Previously Dr Robinson & Partners) is a two partner practice (Dr Bhushan Rao and Dr Hannah Bradshaw) with approximately 6500 patients, supported by a welcoming and proactive administrative and clinical team (including two salaried GPs, two Nurse Practitioners, two practice nurses, a healthcare support worker and a Patient Care Facilitator). The practice also significantly benefits from the support of a well-developed, enthusiastic and enterprising Patient Participation Group. As a training practice, we currently accommodate GP registrars, Foundation Year 2 doctors and a rotation of medical students. We value the opportunities that being a training practice provide to practice clinicians, our patients and trainees.
