Main duties of the job
In this vital role you will ensure the accurate clinical coding of
patient information in electronic healthcare records,In addition, the post holder will support the multi-disciplinary
team, providing administrative support as required, in line with the needs of
the organisation.

based in Longton in Stoke-on-Trent.Our ethos is rooted in proactive

treating illness. We operate as a multidisciplinary team which consists of 3 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs ,2
Practice Pharmacists, 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 4 Practice Nurses, 1
Healthcare Assistant and a Phlebotomist. Our administration team consists of 1
Practice Manager, 1 Assistant Practice Manager,1 reception manager and admin
team of 16. We are also a training Practice. Our staff demonstrate a strong

Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the data Administrator- clinical coder
- To process the daily workflow via |Docman, daily correspondence, electronic communication from secondary care, A&E 111, Emis correspondence and emails via the generic email account
- Accurately input clinical coding data on the clinical system into the patient record utilising the SNOMED codes to enable effective searching and in line with latest guidance
- Identifying relevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence, coding appropriately and completing any detailed action
- Accurate filing of incoming electronic correspondence to patients records
- Inputting and extracting data as required to support practice reports
- Filing and storing records as required
- Photocopying documentation as required
- Actioning all incoming correspondence, emails and mail in a timely manner
- Scanning patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records
- Record of all NHS screening campaigns for example bowel screening correspondence
- Ensure the effective flow of correspondence to clinicians
- Respond to tasks requested by clinicians
- Inputting data into patients healthcare records as necessary
- Answering incoming telephone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
- Carrying out system searches as requested
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
- Supporting all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested
- Liaising with patient and other agencies including the ICB, Solicitors, consultant secretaries
- Keep up to date death register
- Liaise with the medical examiner in regards death certificates as per protocol
- Summarise the records of new patient records coming into he surgery and old records if not previously summaries
- File medical records accurately
- Carry out the necessary Gp2GP processes ensuring compliance with Gp2GP national requirements
- Carry out the necessary SCR processes ensuring complaint with SCRT National requirements
- Follow up next of kin following bereavement
- Adhere to all practice policies procedures and guidelines
- Comply with the standards set out in the contract of employment
- Undertake any other duties as appropriate to the role
